Develop and execute the talent and leadership development strategy for Security & Survivability Systems, identifying organization needs for developing leadership and career progression at all levels. The Manager, Talent Development will lead programs and initiatives, in a changing environment, including leadership and management development, succession planning, talent management, performance management and high potential tracking, leading to the sustainable development of leadership capabilities to support future business objectives.
This position may be located at another BAE Systems location.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
1. Reporting to the VP of HR for Security & Survivability Systems, serving as a key member of the Security & Survivability Systems Human Resources leadership team in delivering an effective, value-added integrated function
2. Creating actionable talent strategies and efforts to support the growth/strategic objectives of the organization. Developing programs and efforts that drive the cultural transformation of the organization
3. Partnering with HR Business Partners to consult with business and functional leaders on issues of talent, leadership and organization development
4. Building capability in the HR population by serving as a talent/leadership development expert in centrally led, locally driven processes
5. Deploying key talent and learning processes including high potential rating codes, succession planning, performance reviews, etc. Partnering with compensation and HRIS as necessary to communicate messaging and scheduling regarding performance review cycle activities
6. Providing advice and guidance to leaders regarding the education and development of talent, as well as employee engagement, organizational climate, and team development
7. Provide coaching and support to key leaders in the creation of robust development plans that meet succession needs
8. Conduct individual leadership, career and talent assessments as appropriate using a variety of tools
9. Conduct training needs assessment, identifying training needs, recommending and implementing programs to support key skill areas
10. Serving as a resource to the recruiting and business partners in the identification of robust internal candidate slots for critical roles
11. Serving as point of contact for learning management and succession e-solutions. Develops robust and metrics to identify value to the business
12. Serve as the lead on diversity/inclusion initiatives within the business, implementing and customizing the L&A strategy and associated efforts
13. Working closely with Operating Group (L&A) and Corporate (BAE) Talent Management and Leadership Development units to align Security & Survivability Systems talent efforts with broader BAE Systems programs and processes
14. Serving as Security & Survivability Systems representative and active member of L&A Learning and Development Working Group, along with peers in other Lines of Business within L&A
1. Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred in HR, Business or related field
2. Extensive (7-10 years) HR experience with 5+ years in the talent/leadership development area
3. Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into development plans
4. Extensive knowledge of talent/leadership development concepts and best practices
5. Certification in a variety of assessment tools/methods
6. Strong project management skills and ability to execute large-scale initiatives
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior management on issues of talent and organization development
8. Strong customer service orientation
9. Demonstrated ability to work in a geographically-dispersed, virtual team environment
